慈溪地处东海之滨，杭州湾跨海大桥南岸，北与上海隔海相望，东临宁波，西接杭州，1.5小时交通圈内可抵达4个国际机场和2个国际深水良港。杭州湾跨海大桥通车后，更为我市“接轨大上海、融入长三角、发展海洋经济”创造了便捷的交通条件。

Cixi is located on the shore of East-China Sea and the southern end of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, with Ningbo on the east, Hangzhou on the west and Shanghai on the north across the sea. All the four international airports and two international deep-water harbors can be reached within one and a half hours’ drive. And the opening of Hangzhou Bay Bridge provides more convenient traffic conditions for Cixi to link up with Shanghai and integrate with Yangtze River Delta so as to further develop its marine economy.

慈溪在县域经济基本竞争力排名中已经连续5年位居全国第三，2011年，在中国十佳“两型”（资源节约、环境友好）中小城市评比位列第五，在全国中小城市科学发展百强县市排名第九，成为浙江省内唯一进入“十强”的县市。

Cixi has ranked the 3rd for the past 5 years in national county economy basic competitive power. In 2011, Cixi won the 5th among China Top 10 Small-Medium Cities known as “Source-Saving and Environment-Friendly”. And was the 9th in National Small-Medium Cities Scientific Development Top 100, therefore Cixi becomes the only city within Zhejiang Province accessed to Top 10.

近年来慈溪的经济实力逐步增强。2011年，全市实现地区生产总值876亿元；财政一般预算收入129亿元；工业总产值2728亿元；自营进出口总额首次突破100亿美元，达到101.68亿美元，其中自营出口83.47亿美元；实际利用外资4.17亿美元。

In recent years, the economic strength of Cixi has gradually increased. In 2011, the GDP of Cixi reached RMB 87.6 billion, the general budget income of Cixi reached RMB 12.9 billion, and the total industrial output value of Cixi reached RMB 272.8 billion. It also realized total self-operated import & export volume of USD 10.168 billion, the first time to exceed USD 10 billion, with self-operated export volume of USD 8.347 billion.. The actual use of foreign capital amounted USD 417 million.

慈溪人民的生活水平随着经济的高速发展也进一步提高，2011年农村居民人均纯收入和城镇居民人均可支配收入分别达到18260元和34123元。

With the rapid economic development, people’s living standard in Cixi has been further improved. In 2011, the net per-capita income of rural inhabitants reached RMB 18,260 and the per-capita disposable income of urban residents reached RMB 34,123.

从我市产业分布情况来看，去年一、二、三产业的比重分别为5.0%、60.2%、34.8%。

According to the industrial distribution of Cixi, in 2011 the proportion of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry was relatively 5%, 60.2% and 34.8%.

农业方面，基本形成了创汇蔬菜、名优水果、特色水产、花卉苗木和畜禽养殖等五大特色主导产业，面积在万亩以上的特色主导品种有20多个。同时，涌现出了海通食品集团、徐龙集团等一批国家级农业龙头企业，农业外向度超过80％，农产品加工转化率达到65％。

In agricultural field, Cixi has formed its five unique leading industries, as foreign exchange earning vegetables, famous fruit, special aquaculture, flowers and seedlings and poultry farming.Among them, more than 20 special leading varieties cover a total area of over 10,000 hectares. Meanwhile, there sprang up some national key flagship enterprises in agriculture such as Haitong Food Group, China Xulong Group, etc.More than 80% of agriculture is export-oriented, and the processing conversion rate of agricultural products reached 65%.

工业方面，拥有家电、轴承、化纤、纺织和汽配等一批优势产业集群，近年来新材料、新能源、装备制造、电子信息等四大新兴产业也不断加快发展步伐，初步形成了“4+4”产业结构体系。家电业经济总量占到全市工业总量的近三分之一，全市有家电整机生产企业2000余家，配套企业近万家，产品涉及20多个系列，拥有“方太”、“先锋”、“沁园”、“浪木”、“卓力”、“公牛”等一大批家电知名品牌，既是中国最重要的家电生产基地之一，也是中国家电的品牌之都和出口基地。同时，我市还是全球最大的饮水器、电熨斗、微型轴承和塑壳打火机等产品生产基地。

In industrial field, a cluster of dominant industries include household appliances, bearings, textiles, chemical fibers and auto parts. In recent years, four emerging industries like new material industry, new energy industry, equipment manufacturing industry and electronic information industry are developed, which has initially formed a “4+4” industry structural system. The economic aggregate of the household appliance industry accounts for nearly 1/3 of the industrial output value of Cixi. There are over 2,000 manufacturers of complete-set household appliances, with nearly 10,000 mating enterprises with products ranging over 20 series, and as one of the most important manufacturing bases, brand capital and export capital of household appliances in China, Cixi has large quantities of well-known household appliance brands, including Fotile, Singfun, Qinyuan, Lamo, Qidi and Bull. Currently, Cixi is also the biggest manufacturing base of water dispenser, electric iron, miniature bearing and molded-case lighter all over the world.

服务业方面，实现了传统服务业向现代服务业华丽转身。2011年全市实现社会消费品零售总额342亿元，已连续十八年位居浙江省各县（市）首位。商贸业正在由带状集聚向块状集聚转变，现有以及在建的大型商业体有：大润发、麦德龙、华润万家，沃尔玛、台湾美食城等，在建的大型商业综合体有：城西休闲商业综合体、银泰百货广场、香港联盛商业广场等。慈溪的酒店、餐饮和汽车销售业快速发展，在建的和已开业的五星级酒店有：杭州湾大酒店、雷迪森广场酒店、恒元大酒店、达蓬山大酒店、汉爵白金五星酒店、嘉丽国际酒店、皇冠假日酒店等。宝马、奔驰、奥迪、雷克萨斯等30多个品牌的汽车4S店云集。慈溪的旅游业也在快速发展，“十一五”期间共接待游客2035万余人次，拥有大桥生态农庄、达蓬山文化旅游区、五磊山风景区、杭州湾滨海湿地等丰富的旅游景点。

In service industry, Cixi has successfully switched from traditional service industry to the modern one. In 2011, the total social retail sales of consumer goods achieved RMB 34.2 billion, maintaining the leading position in Zhejiang Province in 18 consecutive years. Trade and business are changing from belt clusters to block clusters. The large commercial entities existing and being built include RT-mart, Metro, CR Vanguard, Fortune Centre, Jiarun International, Wal-mart, Taiwan Gourmet Palace, etc.  The large commercial complexes being built include Western Leisure Commercial Complex, Intime-city Shopping Mall, Hong Kong Liansheng Commercial Plaza, etc. The hotel industry, catering industry and automobile marketing industry are growing with vigor and vitality. The five A hotels existing and being built include Hangzhou Bay Hotel, Radisson Plaza Hotel, Hengyuan Hotel, Dapeng Mountain Hotel, Platinum Hanjue Hotel, Kerry International Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel, etc. Car consumption of Cixi becomes a highlight, over 30 famous automobile brands have gathered in the auto 4S stores of Cixi, including BMW,  Mercedes Benz, Audi, Lexus, etc. Meanwhile, the tourism industry of Cixi is developing rapidly, too. During the Eleventh Five-year Plan period, Cixi has received over 20.35 million of tourists. There are abundant scenic spots in Cixi such as the Great Bridge Ecological Farm, Dapeng Mountain Cultural Tourism Zone, Wulei Mountain Scenic Spot, Hangzhou Bay Coastal Wetland, etc.

In 2011, Cixi ranked the 9th in the top 100 national small-medium cities with the most investment potential.So far, Cixi has attracted investment from 25 countries and regions, and the foreign-owned enterprises are over 750.The projects of Ciling Hospital funded by HCA with USD 128 million and modern agriculture park funded by Chai Thai Group with RMB 3 billion are under construction.

慈东滨海区位于我市东部，规划总面积约174平方公里，是国务院批复的浙江省海洋经济发展示范区的重要组成部分。处于宁波打造的“一核两带十岛十区”空间布局的海洋经济大平台的核心区位置。

East-Cixi Binhai District is located in the east of Cixi with the total planned area of around 174 square kilometers, becoming an important part of Zhejiang Marine Economy Development Demonstration Area approved by the State Council. It’s also in the central zone of the great marine economy platform of “one center, two belts, ten islands and ten areas” built by Ningbo.

慈东滨海区的功能定位是：宁波海洋经济重点突破区、省内一流的生态工业园区、统筹城乡发展先行区、产城融合发展的现代化小城市。

Functional orientation of East-Cixi Binhai District is to become the key breakthrough area of Ningbo marine economy, first-class eco-industrial park in Zhejiang Province, pilot region for balancing the urban and rural development, a modernized small city intergrating the development of city and industry.

1.慈东滨海区地处环杭州湾产业带的中心区域，交通便捷，园区周边高速公路网络密集，连接宁波北仑港的沿海高速公路将贯穿滨海区。

1. Located in the central part of industrial belt in Hangzhou Bay Rim, East-Cixi Binhai District possesses a traffic convenience with dense high way network around and the coastal high way connecting Ningbo Beilun Port running through the coastal area.

2.滨海区产业基础良好，工业区规划面积42平方公里，已落户企业近300家，2011年实现工业区总产值410亿元。工业布局门类齐全，已形成机械制造、电子信息、新材料、新能源、家电、轻纺化纤等完善的产业链。

2. East-Cixi Binhai District has a favorable industrial basis, and the total planned area of the industrial park is 42 square kilometers. About 300 enterprises have settled here. In 2011, it realized the total industrial output value of RMB 41 billion. With a complete range of industrial layouts, it has formed a complete industrial chain in the area of mechanical manufacturing, electronics & information, new materials, new energy, household appliances, textiles and chemical fibers.

滨海区历史文化积淀深厚，拥有国家4A级景区达蓬山旅游度假区、3A级虞洽卿故居、河头古村等一大批历史、人文、自然资源，年接待游客超过100万人次。

The coastal district has a profound historical and cultural heritage and is rich in history, culture and natural resources like national 4 A level scenic spot Dapong Mountain Tourism Resort, 3 A level scenic spot Yu Qiaqing’s Former residence, and Hetou Ancient Village. The scenic spots attract over 1 million visitors a year.

3.园区配套设施完善，污水处理厂、热电厂、天然气站、学校、医院、金融中心等配套设施一应俱全。

3. The industrial park is well-equipped, and supporting facilities like sewage disposal plants, thermal power plants, schools, hospitals and financial centers are available.

4.发展空间巨大，土地资源集聚，现有13.3平方公里的可供开发用地，同时，“十二五”期间还将围垦33平方公里的海涂区域，为下一步的开发提供了充分的土地资源保障。
